Урок англійської мови 8 клас.Тема:"Врятуємо наше довкілля."


Цей урок пропонується провести в 8-му класі.Тема є однією з найактуальніших в сучасному світі.Основною метою є ознайомити учнів з проблемами довкілля,шляхами боротьби з ними,виховувати дбайливе ставлення до природи.До уроку додаються слайди із звуковим супроводженням
для виконання тематичного тесту.

Theme: ”How to save environment”
The motto of the lesson: “Look after this planet, it’s the only one we have.”
Prince Philip of Britain.
Objectives:-concentrate S’s attention, encourage them in active and
cognitive work;
- stimulate S’s interest by giving them tasks of interdisciplinary character;
-to improve Ss reading, listening, writing and speaking skills on the topic;
-to develop Ss creative abilities;
-to develop Ss presentation skills;
-to acquaint with different ways of saving the environment from ecological catastrophe.
Equipment: text “Our Planet Earth”, tables “Ecological
situation in the world”, a laptop, environmental quiz, slide-presentation “Going Green”&СD,3 sheets of paper, pictures of ecological disasters.

T: We’re going to speak about ecological problems on the Earth.
What are your expectation of the lesson?
Ss: I hope (tips on the blackboard)
-improve my (listening, writing, reading, speaking) skills;
-be able to share my ideas on the topic with my classmates;
-develop my presentation skills;
- be taught to take care of the environment;
-learn about different ways of saving the environment from ecological catastrophe.
1) Warming up:
T: Dear students! Look at the
pictures and try to label them with the appropriate vocabulary:
eruption of the volcano, tsunami, earthquake, storm, deforestation, global warming, endangered species.
T: What is disaster 1? Describe it. What causes it? How can it affect human? …
2) Group-work
a) Reading the text “Our Planet Earth” (HO1)
(3 sheets of paper for each group)
b) While-reading Activities (each group is looking through the text)
c) Post-reading Activities:1-make up the mind mapping “What is the environment?”
2-make a list of ecological problems
(three groups are preparing for these tasks)

3) Role-play: ”Round –table Environment Today”
T: We’ve invited guests who are experts on the environmental problems in the world.
(6 experts of the Environmental Protection Ministry answer Ss questions about the environmental problems in the world.)
Possible questions:
-What are the main ecological problems in the world?
-Why do people in cities have many bad healthy problems?
-What is Greenhouse effect? Does it cause any problems?
-Is acid rain dangerous? Why?
-Why is the ozone layer very important?
-Can nuclear power station cause bad danger? Why?
4) Listening: Multimedia Presentation
Slide1: Plastiс bags can take up to 1,000 years to decompose. When we go shopping, we should always take a bag with us.
Slide2: The ozone layer stops ultra violet light from the sun. It’s between 17 and 25 kilometres above the surface of the Earth.
Slide3: About 90% of the world’s energy comes from oil, coal and gas. One problem is that they are not renewable – they will eventually run out. Another problem is that when we burn them they cause global warming.
Slide 4: At the moment the EU only recycles about 45% of its waste. It wants that figure to be between 50 and 80per cent.
Slide 5: On non-organic farms, farmers use more than 400 different pesticides. These can kill wild animals and birds, and also cause water pollution. If more people bought organic food, this would help to improve the environment.
